How to use

For all necessary intravenous solutions, try to use the smallest cannula size. Disinfect the blood vessel puncture site. Make sure that the blister package of the cannula is intact and the expiration date of the drug has not passed. Remove the protective cap from the needle and insert the needle into the peripheral vein at an acute angle. Make sure that blood flows into the blood return chamber. This confirms the correct puncture. Insert the catheter into the vein by carefully withdrawing the needle. Do not attempt to insert a partially or fully withdrawn needle. Do not press your finger on the vein at or above the catheter insertion point. This may cause blood to splash. Connect the infusion set to the cannula, syringe, or close with a Luer Loc stopper. Dispose of the needle in an appropriate container. Secure the cannula with a plaster. An intravenous cannula with a port can be inserted directly through the port using a syringe. If the port is not in use, it should be capped. Regularly check the venipuncture site for any reactions. After manipulation, the cannula must be disposed of properly.
