Composition
active ingredient: iodine;
100 ml of solution contain 5 g of iodine;
Excipients: potassium iodide, ethanol 96%, purified water.
Dosage form
Solution for external use, alcohol.
Main physicochemical properties: red-brown liquid, transparent in a thin layer, with a characteristic odor.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
The drug contains elemental iodine, which is characterized by antimicrobial, local irritant and distracting effects. When applied to the skin and mucous membranes, the drug has an irritating effect and can cause reflex changes in the body's activity. Penetrating, iodine actively affects metabolism, enhances dissimilation processes.
Indications for use
It is used externally as an antiseptic, irritant for infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, for treating the surgical field, for preventing infection of small skin lesions, and for reducing inflammatory processes in the case of myositis and neuralgia (has a distracting effect).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to iodine. The drug is also contraindicated in case of diabetic and trophic ulcers.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
When used simultaneously with preparations for external use containing organic compounds, denaturation of protein components may occur.
Incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solution, diamond green. Incompatible with disinfectant drugs containing enzymes, mercury, alkalis, reducing agents.
If you are taking any other medications at the same time, you should inform your doctor.
Application features
Caution should be exercised when applying iodine to mucous membranes, as the alcohol contained in the preparation can cause burns and severe irritation. Avoid contact with the eyes. Particular caution should be exercised when applying iodine to patients with blond hair.
Should not be applied to large areas of skin due to possible burn development.
You should not violate the rules for using the medicine - this can harm your health.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
The use of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended due to the risk of developing thyroid dysfunction in the fetus/child.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
Does not affect the reaction speed when driving or using other mechanisms.
Method of administration and doses
When used externally, a cotton swab is moistened with iodine and used to treat affected areas of the skin.
Children
Do not use in newborns due to the risk of developing thyroid dysfunction and skin lesions.
Overdose
Overdose may cause symptoms of iodism (runny nose, urticaria, angioedema, lacrimation, drooling, acne on the skin), burns, and skin irritation.
Therapy is symptomatic.
Adverse reactions
A runny nose, urticaria, angioedema, salivation and lacrimation, skin rash, and contact dermatitis may occur.
If any adverse reactions occur, you should consult a doctor.
Expiration date
3 years.
The drug cannot be used after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºС in a place inaccessible to children.
