Oral solution of Iron saccharate-ferric wine is indicated for:
Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency states of various etiologies. Prevention of iron deficiency in children, women of reproductive age (especially during pregnancy). Prevention of iron deficiency in adults on a vegetarian diet, in the elderly. Treatment of iron deficiency anemia.Composition
Active ingredient: iron oxide saccharate;
100 g of solution contain: iron oxide saccharate - 7.39 g;
Excipients: pressed sugar, vanillin, ethanol 96%, purified water;
1 g contains 0.098 g of ethanol (9.8%).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the drug or its components. Excess iron in the body: hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis. Anemias not caused by iron deficiency (for example, hemolytic anemia, megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, aplastic anemia); impaired iron utilization (anemia caused by lead poisoning, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia); esophageal stenosis and / or other obstructive diseases of the digestive tract, intestinal diverticula, intestinal obstruction; regular blood transfusions, simultaneous use of parenteral forms of iron. It is not advisable to use with a decrease in the concentration of iron in the blood serum and with anemias caused by chronic inflammatory processes or neoplasms.Method of application
Adults, as well as pregnant women and children over 12 years of age, the drug is prescribed orally 1 tablespoon in 0.5 cups of water 3 times a day after meals. It is advisable to suck the solution through a straw to avoid darkening of the teeth, it is advisable to rinse the mouth after taking the drug. Periodically, once every few weeks, take a blood test and determine the hemoglobin level. When the hemoglobin level normalizes, the drug should be discontinued.

Overdose
It is practically unlikely, since the absorption of iron from the drug occurs by active transport, and the level of absorption depends on the level of iron deficiency in the body and is impossible above the physiological norm. The excess of the drug that is not absorbed is excreted from the body with feces.
Side effects
General disorders: Isolated cases of discoloration of tooth enamel in children, possibly dark stool color due to excretion of unabsorbed iron (of no clinical significance).
Prolonged unjustified use of iron preparations can lead to hemosiderosis.
If side effects occur, it is necessary to reduce the dose of the drug for a short period of time.
Interaction
The effectiveness of the drug increases with the simultaneous use of folic acid preparations, vitamin B12. Simultaneous use with allopurinol may lead to the accumulation of iron in the liver. Simultaneous use with tetracycline preparations reduces the effectiveness of the latter. The effectiveness of the drug decreases with simultaneous use with cholestyramine. It is advisable not to use simultaneously with oral tocopherol preparations to avoid a decrease in the activity of the latter.
