Properties
Iodine deficiency leads to a decrease in the intellectual potential of the entire population living in the iodine deficiency zone. Increased physical fatigue, inability to concentrate for a long time, progressive vision and hearing impairments are only a small part of all the ailments that iodine deficiency can cause in an adult.
Kelp is the common name for all varieties of large brown marine algae: Laminaria digitata, Japanese and sugar kelp, and sea kale, which grow along the coasts of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Brown algae contain iodine in the form of iodite and iodine organic compounds. The main pharmacological action of large brown algae is associated with the presence of organic iodine compounds, since it is an indispensable component of thyroid hormones. The biological role of iodine is associated with participation in the biosynthesis of thyroid hormones (thyroxine, triiodothyronine), which control energy metabolism, interact in the main types of metabolism: protein, fat and carbohydrate. Hormones control the processes of development and functioning of the brain, nervous system, maintain body temperature, and help reduce blood cholesterol levels in atherosclerosis.
The lack of iodine intake from food and water into the human body, which is necessary for the normal functioning of the thyroid gland, is the main reason for the spread of iodine deficiency diseases.
"Kelp" is a source of natural iodine of plant origin (from seaweed) and a necessary food supplement, especially in regions with low iodine content in water and in areas with increased radioactive background (since organic iodine blocks the accumulation of radioactive iodine in the thyroid gland and promotes its excretion from the body). It is recommended as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent for diseases caused by iodine deficiency, thyroid diseases, atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease.
Composition of 1 tablet - daily dose of organic iodine for adolescents and adults - 150 mcg.
Also, seaweed additionally contains mineral elements (iron, sodium, calcium-2-substituted orthophosphate, magnesium stearate, potassium) in an easily digestible form, is a source of biologically important amounts of trace elements (copper, boron, chromium, vanadium, zinc), 12 natural vitamins (A, groups B, C, D, E, pantothenic and folic acid, etc.), amino acids. Each of the elements performs a specific function in the body, and in general they determine the general strengthening properties of seaweed - Kelp.
