Description

Pharmacological properties

Purified preparation from the leaves of lily of the valley and its varieties. acts similarly to digitoxin and strophanthin; gives a longer effect. The mechanism of action is due to the inhibition of na + / k + -ATPase in the cell membrane. In heart failure, it increases the stroke volume and minute volume of the heart, improves the emptying of the ventricles, which leads to a decrease in the size of the heart and a decrease in the need for myocardial oxygen.

Indication

Acute and chronic circulatory failure of stages II and III, paroxysmal tachycardia, tachysystolic form of atrial fibrillation.

Application

In / in slowly 0.5-1 ml of 0.06% solution in 20 ml of 40% glucose solution. The highest single dose for adults is 1 ml, daily - 2 ml.

Contraindication

Glycoside intoxication, ventricular tachycardia, AV block II and III degree, severe bradycardia, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia, isolated mitral stenosis, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, carotid sinus syndrome, thoracic aortic aneurysm, WPW S-M, acute myocardial infarction.

Side effects

Mainly due to overdose or hypersensitivity of the patient to cardiac glycosides; rarely - allergic reactions.
