Lergesan tablets 1.5 mg No. 1




Lergesan tablets are emergency contraceptives. They are indicated for use as emergency contraception within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or if the contraceptive method used was unreliable.
Composition
1 tablet contains 1.5 mg of levonorgestrel;
Excipients: lactose monohydrate; corn starch; hypromellose; talc; colloidal anhydrous silica; magnesium stearate.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug; severe liver failure; pregnancy.Method of application
1.5 mg tablets: 1 tablet should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, preferably within the first 12 hours and no later than 72 hours.
If vomiting occurs within 3 hours after taking the tablet, you must take 1 more tablet.
Lergesan can be used in any phase of the menstrual cycle, provided that there is no delay in menstrual bleeding.
After using emergency contraception, it is recommended to use a local barrier method (e.g., condoms, diaphragms, spermicide, cervical cap) until the start of the next menstruation.
The use of Lergesan is not a contraindication for continuing regular hormonal contraception.
Application features
Pregnant women
Taking Lergesan tablets during pregnancy is contraindicated. The drug does not cause abortion.
Breastfeeding period
Levonorgestrel passes into breast milk. The potential exposure of the infant to levonorgestrel can be reduced by taking the drug immediately after breastfeeding or by refraining from breastfeeding for 8 hours after taking the drug.
Children
The drug Lergesan is not intended for use in children of prepubertal age for the indication of emergency contraception.
Drivers
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive or operate other mechanisms has not been studied.
Overdose
No serious adverse effects have been reported following acute overdose with large doses of oral contraceptives.
Overdose may cause nausea and breakthrough bleeding.
There are no specific antidotes, treatment is symptomatic.
Side effects
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: very rare (<1/10,000): itching, urticaria, rash.
Reproductive system and breast disorders: very rare (<1/10,000): pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea (menstrual disorder).
Gastrointestinal disorders: very rare (<1/10,000): abdominal pain.
Systemic disorders: very rare (<1/10,000): facial edema.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C in a place protected from light.
Keep out of reach of children.
