Composition

active ingredient: 1 tablet contains 2 mg of glucosaminylmuramyl pentapeptide in terms of peptides;

excipients: hypromellose (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose); lactose, monohydrate; magnesium stearate; croscarmellose sodium; sorbitol (D-sorbitol) (E 420); microcrystalline cellulose.

Pharmacological properties

Liasten® belongs to immunomodulators of natural origin with a wide spectrum of action. It is a fragment of the cell wall of lactobacilli. Liasten® stimulates the function of macrophages and normalizes the number of T-lymphocytes. Liasten® activates cells of the monocyte-macrophage series, phagocytosis; increases the activity of lysosomal enzymes, the production of reactive oxygen species, enhances the cytotoxic effect of macrophages on tumor cells. The drug enhances the synthesis of cytokines. Liasten® increases the cytotoxic activity of natural killer cells. The immunomodulatory activity of Liasten® is also manifested in the fact that the drug preserves the endocrine function of the thymus, helps reduce circulating immune complexes.

Liasten® stimulates leukopoiesis, has a weak antimetastatic and antitumor effect, reduces the side effects of chemo- and radiation therapy. The drug does not have embryotoxic, mutagenic and teratogenic effects.

Indication

Liasten® is prescribed as an immunomodulatory agent for acute and chronic bacterial and viral infections; for various diseases accompanied by secondary immunodeficiency, in particular during chemo- and radiation therapy of cancer patients and patients with leukemia, in order to reduce the toxic effects of cytostatics; for acute and chronic radiation injuries; for surgical treatment of cancer patients. Liasten® is indicated for the treatment of patients with leukopenia of various origins.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; autoimmune thyroiditis in the acute phase; conditions of diseases accompanied by hyperthermia (>38 °C) at the time of taking the drug.

Application features

Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product, as it contains D-sorbitol and lactose monohydrate.

Method of administration and doses

Liasten® tablets are intended for slow resorption in the oral cavity. It is advisable to slowly dissolve the tablet under the tongue. Usually, 1 tablet should be prescribed 2 times a day. The course of treatment with the drug is usually 10 - 20 days. If necessary, repeated courses of treatment can be carried out after 3 - 6 and 12 months.

Children

There is no experience with the use of the drug in children.

Overdose

Practically impossible, since the minimum toxic doses of the drug exceed the therapeutic ones by 650 times.

Adverse reactions

Sometimes a short-term slight increase in body temperature is possible, which does not require discontinuation of the drug and special medical measures, hypersensitivity reactions.
