Lidoxan Menthol lozenges are indicated for inflammatory and infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx, accompanied by pain when swallowing and irritation.

Composition

Active ingredients: chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, lidocaine hydrochloride;

1 lollipop contains chlorhexidine dihydrochloride 5 mg and lidocaine hydrochloride 1 mg;

Excipients: menthol (levomenthol), citric acid, magnesium stearate, sorbitol (E 420).

Contraindication

Method of application

Lidoxan Menthol, lozenges, must be sucked until completely dissolved. The drug is intended for topical use in the oral cavity and throat.

It is not advisable to use the drug during or immediately after meals.

Not prescribed for children under 6 years of age.

Overdose

Chlorhexidine is absorbed from the digestive tract in small quantities. Lidocaine is absorbed faster, but the bioavailability after oral administration is only 35%. Toxic effects of lidocaine occur at plasma concentrations exceeding 6 mg/l. After the use of excessive doses (more than 20 lozenges per day), swallowing difficulties may occur (decreased control over the swallowing reflex) - in this case, you should immediately consult a doctor. Systemic intoxication occurs due to effects on the central nervous system and cardiovascular system. The first reactions of overdose are damage to the central nervous system.

Patients should not take Lidoxan Menthol concomitantly with cholinesterase inhibitors (e.g. neostigmine, distigmine, pyridostigmine) or other drugs for the treatment of myasthenia gravis.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
