Diindolylmethane (DIM) is an active metabolite of indole-3-carbinol (I3C), found in plants of the cabbage family, in particular broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. It normalizes estrogen metabolism in favor of the formation of 2-C-hydroxyestrone, which ensures the death of tumor cells, thereby reducing the risk of developing estrogen-dependent tumor processes in women. It also inhibits the synthesis of 16-C-hydroxyestrone, which is a carcinogen for female reproductive organs and causes uncontrolled cell division. DIM has a direct effect on cells infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV). It blocks the division of infected cells, leads to their death, without affecting healthy cells of the body, and thereby inhibits the development of papillomatous growths. Diindolylmethane has high antioxidant properties, increases the efficiency of detoxification systems and slows down the aging process.
