Mechanical tonometer for measuring blood pressure. It is durable and reliable. The device is equipped with a standard cuff and stethoscope.
The pressure readings measured by a mechanical tonometer correspond to the readings obtained by a trained user as a result of auscultatory measurement using a cuff/stethoscope.
Measurement method:
- Place the head of the stethoscope on the main artery of the arm, under the cuff.
- With the valve closed, press the bulb and inflate the cuff to a value that exceeds your normal blood pressure by a range of 20 to 30 mm Hg.
- Open the valve and gradually deflate the cuff at a rate of 2-3 mmHg per second.
- The pressure at which heart sounds (Korotkoff sounds) become audible is the systolic pressure, and the pressure at which they disappear is the diastolic pressure.
- After completing the measurement, fully open the valve to release any remaining air in the cuff.
Storage and care:
- After the measurement, wrap the cuff around the sphygmomanometer and bulb and place them in the case along with the stethoscope.
- When storing the device, the air from the cuff must be completely released.
- Avoid touching the cuff or its parts with sharp instruments.
- The accuracy of the manometer can be checked visually: when the air is completely released from the cuff, the manometer needle should be below the number "0". Under normal operating conditions, it is recommended to calibrate the device every two years to ensure accurate measurements.
- The sphygmomanometer body and cuff should be cleaned with care, using a slightly damp soft cloth. Do not apply excessive pressure to the device. Do not wash the cuff in water or use chemical cleaners to clean it. Never use solvents, alcohol or gasoline.
Precautions:
- The Rossmax aneroid sphygmomanometer is designed to measure blood pressure on the shoulder or thigh on healthy skin.
- Do not inflate the pressure above 300 mm Hg.
- The pressure measurement procedure should not last more than 3 minutes.
- You must wait at least 5 minutes before measuring again.
