To achieve the desired functional result, which is the goal of using an elastic bandage, it is important to adhere to the following requirements for using an elastic bandage: The elastic bandage should be applied in the morning, before getting out of bed, preferably while lying in bed. The roll of bandage should be rolled outwards in close proximity to the skin to avoid pulling the bandage. Each turn of the bandage should overlap the previous one by 30-50%.

To improve the fixation of the elastic bandage, especially on the thigh, the bandage should be applied alternately in the ascending and descending directions, forming a "herringbone" pattern.

The proximal edge of the compression should be 10-15 cm above the valve area of the limb segment.

When applying elastic bandages in areas of natural deformation, it is necessary to model the cylindrical profile of the limb using latex and foam rollers. When the bandage is applied correctly, the fingertips turn slightly blue, and at the beginning of movement they restore their normal color. After applying the elastic bandage, the patient is asked to remain still for 20-30 minutes.
