Medicare ch 14 aspiration catheter

For sanitation and aspiration of sputum and mucus from endotracheal, tracheostomy and endobronchial tubes, upper respiratory tract, oral and nasal cavities.

Method of application

Insert the catheter through the nose, mouth or endotracheal tube to the level required for active aspiration (according to the marking previously applied to the catheter). Connect the suction device to the catheter connector and perform aspiration. Check the level of vacuum in the catheter by closing the hole on the CAPCON connector with your finger. Flush the catheter to restore patency. After aspiration, disconnect the catheter from the suction device, remove the catheter and dispose of it appropriately.
