Methylene blue 1% alcohol aqueous solution is an antiseptic dye.

The mechanism of antiseptic action of methylene blue is based on its ability to react with certain acidic or basic groups of substances of gram-positive bacterial cells, with mucopolysaccharides and proteins to form poorly soluble and slowly ionizing complexes.

The solution is used for burns, pyoderma, and various skin processes.

Method of application

Applied topically.

Adults and children over one year old are smeared on the affected area of skin, surrounding healthy tissue.

Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
