Composition

1 ml of the drug contains: methylene blue 0.01 g (10 mg); excipients: ethanol 40%.

Properties

Methylene blue belongs to the antiseptic dyes. The mechanism of antiseptic action of methylene blue is based on its ability to react with certain acidic or basic groups of substances of gram-positive bacterial cells, with mucopolysaccharides and proteins to form poorly soluble and slowly ionizing complexes.

Recommendations for use

Methylene blue solution is recommended for use in burns, pyoderma, and various purulent-inflammatory skin processes.

Method of application

Apply locally.

For adults and children over 1 year of age, the solution is applied to the affected area of skin, capturing the surrounding healthy tissue.

The duration of use is determined individually, taking into account the effectiveness of treatment.

Reservation

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

It is prescribed with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to methylthioninium chloride.

Children's age up to 1 year.
