Silk is used for soft tissue approximation and/or suturing in general and abdominal surgery, ophthalmology, microsurgery, cardiovascular surgery, maxillofacial surgery and neurosurgery. For suturing skin, muscles and aponeuroses.

Contraindication

Silk is not recommended for use in vascular prostheses and artificial valves.

The use of this suture material is contraindicated in patients with sensitivity or allergic reactions to silk.
