Composition

active ingredients: 1 lollipop contains 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg; amylmetacresol 0.6 mg; levomenthol 5.9 mg;

excipients: peppermint oil, isomalt, tartaric acid, sage oil, ponceau 4R (E 124), quinoline yellow (E 104), patent blue V (E 131).

Pharmacodynamics

Neo-Angin Sage is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms in vitro; exhibits antifungal activity. The effectiveness of the drug is due to the presence of two broad-spectrum antibacterial components that relieve sore throat and reduce the activity of bacteria, which results in a bactericidal effect. 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol has a bacteriostatic effect by dehydrating the bacterial cell.

Levomenthol complements the action of the other two components of the drug with an analgesic effect caused by stimulation of cold receptors of the mucous membrane.

Neo-Angin Sage is well tolerated and has a pleasant taste.

Pharmacokinetics

Due to the low absorption, the drug is a topical agent. Given this, pharmacokinetic parameters have not been determined.

Indication

Local treatment (as part of complex therapy) of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, throat and larynx: stomatitis, gingivitis, tonsillitis, initial stage of angina, pharyngitis, laryngitis.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Children under 6 years of age.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

When administered orally, relevant drug interactions are unknown.

Application features

Neo-angin® sage contains the dye Ponceau 4R (E 124), which may cause allergic reactions.

The drug also contains isomalt (sugar substitute) 2.58 g. This should be taken into account by patients with diabetes.

The drug should not be used in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, sucrose-isomaltose.

If symptoms of the disease persist for more than 3 days, are accompanied by high fever, headache, or other symptoms, you should consult a doctor to adjust the treatment regimen.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

The safety and efficacy of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding have not been established. Use during pregnancy is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

The drug should not be used during breastfeeding.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

Method of administration and doses

Adults and children over 6 years of age are recommended to slowly dissolve 1 lozenge every 2-3 hours, but not more than 6 lozenges per day. The duration of treatment is 3-5 days.

Contraindicated for children under 6 years of age.

Symptoms: possible discomfort from the digestive tract.

Therapy is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions are possible, including skin flushing, itching, skin rash, urticaria, angioedema, swelling and pain of the lips, tongue or throat.
