General properties
Sterile solution for ophthalmic use with physiological pH.
Mechanism of action:
Hypromellose is a polymer with mucomimetic properties that can stabilize the tear film on the corneal surface by creating a protective, transparent and elastic shield.
Sodium hyaluronate is a molecule that is naturally present in the human body where there is a need for constant hydration (e.g. cartilage, skin, tear film), so it is biocompatible. It is used for hydration and lubrication, which counteracts dry eyes and creates a film that protects the corneal endothelium from external agents and free radical damage.
Together with hypromellose, it provides long-lasting and intensive hydration of the eye surface. These substances deposit and retain water from the environment and form a lubricating shield on the eye surface. This viscous shield releases water gradually, so OFTAmill drops provide long-lasting hydration of the eyes.
Chamomile water extract: the action of chamomile is due to the complex of substances contained in it (chamazulene, mitricin, apigenin, apiin and herniarin) and has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, soothing and refreshing effect, enhances regenerative processes, weakens allergic reactions, has a moderate antispasmodic effect and is therefore prescribed to reduce pain in case of redness of the tear film of the eyes, which are caused by atmospheric agents and environmental factors. Due to the presence of flavonoids (quercetin, luteolin and apigenin), chamomile has antibacterial and antiviral properties.
Aloe vera water extract: an immunostimulant, has a moisturizing, regenerating and bacteriostatic effect, stimulates cell metabolism and tissue regeneration in eye diseases.
Water extract of rose hips: contains ascorbic acid, vitamins A, E, B, K, P, carotene, iron, calcium, potassium salts, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, essential oil, lycopene. Vitamins B2 and B1 help in the synthesis of visual purple and play a role in the formation of yellow pigment.
Blueberry aqueous extract: Blueberry extract contains anthocyanins (mainly myrtilin and neomyrtilin), polyphenols, flavonoids (hyperin, astrogalin, quercetin, isoquercetin, rutin), organic acids (citric, malic, lactic, oxalic, succinic, quinic), triterpenoids (ursolic acid), micro and macro elements.
Myrtilin glucoside has a capillary protective and antioxidant effect, helps improve the rheological properties of the cell membrane, accelerates the regeneration of rhodopsin (a photosensitive pigment of the retina responsible for adapting to changes in the intensity (brightness) of light), improves microcirculation, which leads to a decrease in fatigue and eye strain (reading, working at a computer monitor, etc.), improves visual acuity in the dark, and reduces the risk of diabetic retinopathy and cataracts. It has been proven that blueberries naturally accelerate the renewal of the retina, which is sensitive to light.
Boric acid: has antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, anti-pediculosis, astringent, fungistatic effects. It is used as an antiseptic.
Indications for use
Oftamill is recommended for use in complex or additional therapy for:
diseases of the anterior surface of the eye (conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratitis, keratouveitis) as a bacteriostatic and anti-inflammatory agent;
retinopathy and uveopathy (due to capillary protective, regenerative and antioxidant effects);
in the postoperative period as an antiseptic;
dry eye syndrome, computer syndrome (due to moisturizing, stabilizing and antioxidant effects);
the use of contact lenses and in orthokeratology;
to increase the bioavailability of anti-glaucomatous and anti-inflammatory drugs;
for washing eyes after exposure to factors of a polluted environment, hyperinsolation, sea salt and water, etc.;
for eye washing in the complex treatment of acute respiratory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (as an anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory agent).
Method of application
1 - 2 drops in each eye 3 - 4 times a day.
Vision may be temporarily blurred when this product is first used.
In addition, minor burning/eye irritation may temporarily occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor.
Gradual emptying of the vial may require higher pressure to be applied to the vial walls to ensure product release. This is due to the properties of the vial closure system to maintain sterility and the physicochemical properties of preservative-free solutions.
Children
There are no age restrictions if the drug is prescribed by a doctor.
Contraindication
Individual hypersensitivity to the product components.
Reservation
The product is intended for single-patient ophthalmic use only.
Do not use drops if the container is damaged or broken when opened. Do not touch the dropper to the eyes during use. To prevent contamination of the solution, close the bottle tightly after use. Do not use in case of eye infection. If individual sensitivity occurs, consult a doctor.
Do not use after 90 days of opening the bottle and after the expiration date. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using the drops.
Storage conditions
At a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C in a place inaccessible to children.
Expiration date
3 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
