Olopatadine eye drops solution 1 mg/ml bottle with dropper cap 5 ml




Olopatadine eye drops are used to treat seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Composition
The active substance is olopatadine (1 ml of the drug contains 1 mg of olopatadine).
Excipients: sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid, water for injections.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to olopatadine or to any of the excipients of the drug.
Method of application
For ophthalmic use only.
One drop of the drug should be instilled into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) twice a day (8 hours apart). If necessary, treatment may last up to 4 months.
Use in elderly patients. No dose adjustment is necessary for this category of patients.
Use in children and adolescents. Can be used in pediatric practice in children from 3 years of age in the same dosage as in adults. The safety and efficacy of the drug in children under 3 years of age have not been studied. Data on this age category are not available.
Use in hepatic and renal impairment. Olopatadine eye drops have not been studied in patients with hepatic or renal impairment. However, no dose adjustment is necessary in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
To prevent contamination of the dropper tip and contents of the bottle, care should be taken not to touch the eyelids or other surfaces with the tip of the dropper cap. The bottle should be tightly closed after each use.
If more than one ophthalmic product is applied topically, the interval between their applications should be at least 5 minutes. Eye ointments should be applied last.
Application features
Pregnant women
There are no or limited ophthalmic data on the use of olopatadine in pregnant women. Reproductive toxicity has been shown in animals after systemic administration. Olopatadine is not recommended for use in pregnant women and women of childbearing potential not using contraception.
Olopatadine was excreted in breast milk when administered orally to animals. A risk to the newborn/infants cannot be excluded. The product should not be used during breast-feeding.
Studies evaluating the effect of olopatadine on human reproductive function following topical ophthalmic administration have not been conducted.
Drivers
The drug has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines. As with any eye drops, temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances may affect the ability to drive or use machines. If blurred vision occurs during instillation, the patient should wait until the vision clears before driving or using machines.
Overdose
There are no data on overdose in humans after accidental or intentional ingestion.
Side effects
A common side effect of the drug is eye pain.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.
Shelf life - 2 years (after opening the bottle - no more than 4 weeks).
