Instructions for use: Oxolin-Darnitsa ointment 2.5 mg/g, tube 10 g
Composition
active ingredient: 1 g of ointment contains oxolin 2.5 mg;
excipients: benzoic acid (E 210), poloxamer, macrogol cetostearyl ether, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, hard paraffin, propylene glycol.

Main physicochemical properties: homogeneous ointment of white or white with a yellowish tint.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
Oxolin-Darnitsa is an antiviral agent for external use. It has virucidal activity, blocking the binding sites of the influenza virus (mostly type A2) with the surface of the cell membrane, protecting cells from virus penetration. Herpes simplex viruses, herpes zoster, adenoviruses, viruses of infectious warts and molluscum contagiosum are also sensitive to the action of oxolin.
Pharmacokinetics.
The drug is non-toxic, with local application no systemic effect was detected, it does not accumulate in the body. When applied to the mucous membrane, 20% of the drug is absorbed, and is excreted mainly by the kidneys within 24 hours.
Indication
Flu prevention, treatment of viral rhinitis.
Contraindication
Individual hypersensitivity to the active substance or to other components of the medicinal product.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Simultaneous intranasal use with adrenomimetic agents may lead to drying of the nasal mucosa.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
There are no data on the safety and efficacy of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
Oxolin does not affect the speed of neuromuscular conduction; in recommended doses, it can be used by people who drive vehicles and work with complex mechanisms.
Method of administration and doses
Flu prevention: apply the ointment to the nasal mucosa 2-3 times a day for 25 days or when in contact with sick people.
Treatment of viral rhinitis: apply the ointment to the nasal mucosa 2-3 times a day for 3-4 days.
Children.
There are no data on the safety and efficacy of the drug in children.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported so far.
Symptoms: possible burning sensation on the nasal mucosa and rhinorrhea.
Treatment: stop using the ointment, wash off the remaining product with warm water.
Adverse reactions
A burning sensation may occur at the site of ointment application, which quickly passes; rhinorrhea; blue discoloration of the mucous membrane.
Expiration date
3 years.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Store in original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 8 ºС.
