Pantecrem cream 5% tube 30 g

Pharmacological properties
The active ingredient of the drug is dexpanthenol - provitamin B5. In skin cells, dexpanthenol is quickly converted into pantothenic acid and acts as a vitamin. Dexpanthenol is absorbed faster than pantothenic acid after external application.
Pantothenic acid is a component of coenzyme A (CoA). In this form, acetyl-coenzyme A (CoA) plays a central role in the metabolism of every cell. Pantothenic acid is therefore essential for the formation and healing of damaged skin and mucous membranes.
The drug has a hydrophilic cream base, due to which it is quickly absorbed by the skin, therefore it is suitable for treating wet wounds, unprotected areas of the skin (for example, facial skin) and areas of the skin covered with hair.
Dexpanthenol is rapidly absorbed when applied externally. In skin cells, dexpanthenol is immediately converted to pantothenic acid and added to the endogenous pool of this vitamin.
In the blood, pantothenic acid binds to β-globulin and plasma albumin. In healthy adults, the concentration is approximately 500-1000 and 100 mg/L in blood and plasma, respectively.
Pantothenic acid is not biotransformed. It is excreted unchanged. 60-70% is excreted in the urine, the rest in the feces.
