Properties
A combined biologically active supplement, the biological value of which is determined by the properties of its constituent components, mainly of plant origin, thanks to which it contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous, cardiovascular and digestive systems.
Passionflower, valerian, lemon balm extracts and the amino acid 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) in combination with magnesium reduce arousal, initiate physiological sleep, improve the quality and depth of sleep. Biologically active substances of passionflower, valerian, lemon balm plants help in psychologically difficult situations, are recommended for normalizing the emotional background, with increased excitability, irritability during stress, especially in the climacteric and premenopausal periods. Has a beneficial effect on digestive processes. An additional source of 5-HTP, which helps maintain normal levels of serotonin in the body.
Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata). Passionflower extract contains indole alkaloids (Harman, Garmin, Garmol), flavonoids (Vitexin, Quercetin), as well as coumarins, quinones, etc. It exhibits calming properties in cases of anxiety, restlessness, irritation, has a positive effect on emotional excitability in the climacteric and premenopausal period, during stress, improves general well-being, helps with pain of various origins, fatigue and mental strain.
Magnesium (in the form of magnesium oxide) is a metabolic cofactor of most metabolic reactions, especially those associated with the synthesis and release of energy. It regulates neurochemical transmission and muscle excitability, reduces the level of acetylcholine in the CNS and peripheral nervous system. It is a physiological antagonist of calcium. The antiplatelet properties of magnesium are associated with a decrease in the synthesis of thromboxane A2 and an increase in the stimulation of the synthesis of prostacyclin and HDL. It is important for cardiac function, normalization of vascular tone and maintenance of electrolyte balance. A decrease in magnesium causes disturbances in metabolic processes and functions of the nervous system, which can lead to such phenomena as increased irritability, depression, fatigue, impaired memory, attention, sleep disorders, palpitations, vasospasm, muscle cramps, tingling sensations.
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis), the roots and rhizomes of which contain biologically active substances, including essential oil, most of which is borneol and isovaleric acid ester; organic acids (valeric, palmitic, stearic, formic, malic, etc.); esters of oleic, acetic and other acids; valepotriates and alkaloids (valerine and hotenine), glycosides (valerosides), tannins, resins, some ketones, sesquiterpenoids, starch, sugars and many others. Due to the complex of biologically active substances, valerian can exhibit sedative properties and increase the resistance of the nervous system to adverse environmental factors; has antispasmodic and choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastrointestinal mucosa; can facilitate falling asleep, the onset and duration of natural sleep. In addition, it may exhibit positive neuroregulatory properties regarding cardiac muscle activity (contributing to slowing heart rate and coronary vasodilation), promotes interaction with the GABA system, and stimulates A1-adenosine-serotonin reuptake receptors.
Melissa officinalis is a herbaceous plant, the leaves and stems of which contain essential oils (citral, geraniol, menalool, peral, caryophyllene), tannins, organic acids (succinic, caffeic, oleanolic), flavonoids, carotene, vitamin C and mineral salts. Due to the presence of essential oils, it has a specific pleasant smell and taste of lemon, which makes it related to other names of lemon balm - lemon balm, lemon grass. Lemon balm is very effective for metabolism, cleansing the intestines, for attacks of nausea, flatulence, constipation and helps restore saprophytic intestinal microflora. The soothing and relaxing properties of lemon balm help with dietary restrictions, eliminating hunger cramps in the stomach. Lemon balm has a calming effect on the nervous system, helps normalize sleep, and improves attention.
