Composition
active ingredient: dry extract of common ivy leaves;
1 capsule contains 52.5 mg of common ivy leaf dry extract (Hederae helicis e folium) ((4–8):1) (extractant ethanol 30%);
excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, corn starch, copovidone, magnesium stearate;
capsule shell composition: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxide yellow (E 172), indigo carmine (E 132).
Dosage form
Capsules.
Main physicochemical properties: hard gelatin capsules No. 3, capsule body and cap – dark green. Capsule contents – light brown powder containing small particles from light to darker color.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
A medicinal product of plant origin. It contains dry ivy leaf extract, which has antitussive, expectorant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects due to the presence of glycosides (saponins).
Reduces the viscosity of sputum, facilitating its discharge.
Pharmacokinetics
Not studied.
Indication
Acute inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract accompanied by cough; symptomatic treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the bronchi.
Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to the active substance, plants of the Araliaceae family, or to any other component of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
No side effects of the drug were observed when Pectolvan® Ivy was used simultaneously with other drugs. Therefore, the drug can be used together with other drugs, for example, with antibiotics.
Application features
If the symptoms of the disease do not disappear or shortness of breath, fever, and purulent or bloody sputum appear when coughing, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Concomitant use of antitussives containing codeine or dexmethorphan is not recommended without consulting a doctor.
Use the drug with caution in patients with gastritis or stomach ulcer.
This medicine contains a small amount of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg/dose.
The daily dose of Pectolvan® Ivy capsules (3 capsules) contains 0.00675 IU, which should be taken into account by patients with diabetes.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Due to the lack of sufficient data, the drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

Method of administration and doses
Adults and children over 12 years old – 1 capsule 3 times a day.
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually. In mild cases, the duration of treatment is 1 week. To achieve a stable therapeutic effect, it is recommended to continue therapy for another 2–3 days after the patient's condition improves.
If the patient's condition does not improve, a doctor should be consulted for further treatment.
Children.
The drug can be used in children over 12 years of age.
Overdose
Taking doses exceeding the recommended ones may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or agitation. Treatment is symptomatic.
Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions may occur: shortness of breath, swelling of the mucous membranes, skin rash, hives, itching.
Patients with hypersensitivity may experience gastrointestinal disturbances, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
Expiration date
2 years.
Do not use the drug after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Storage conditions
Store in original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºС.
Keep out of reach of children.
