Pelorsin® tablets are used for acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract and ENT organs (bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillar angina, rhinopharyngitis).
Composition
Active ingredient: dry extract from the roots of sedum pelargonium (Pelargonium sidoides).
1 film-coated tablet contains dry extract from the roots of Pelargonium sidoides (4 – 25:1), extractant: ethanol 11% (m/m) – 20 mg.
Excipients: maltodextrin; microcrystalline cellulose; lactose, monohydrate; croscarmellose sodium; colloidal anhydrous silica; magnesium stearate;
Excipients for film coating: Opadry red 03F250013 (hypromellose 2910, macrogol 4000, iron oxide yellow (E 172), iron oxide red (E 172), iron oxide black (E 172), talc).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the drug, increased tendency to bleeding and taking medications that slow down the blood clotting process. Pelorsin® should not be used in severe liver and kidney diseases.
Method of application
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 3 times a day (morning, afternoon and evening).
Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 tablet 2 times a day (morning and evening).
Pelorsin® is recommended to be taken without chewing, with a small amount of liquid.
In addition, in order to prevent relapse, it is recommended to continue treatment for a few more days after the symptoms of the disease disappear. The average duration of the course of treatment is 7–10 days.
If symptoms persist for longer than 1 week without improvement while using the medicine, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
Application features
Pregnant women
Due to the lack of sufficient experience with the use of the drug Pelorsin®, its use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. There are no data on the effect of the drug Pelorsin® on fertility.
Children
Prescribed for children aged 6 years and over.
Drivers
There are no studies on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive or operate other mechanisms.
Overdose
To date, there have been no reports of overdose.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal tract: digestive tract disorders (including stomach pain, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea), mild bleeding from the gums.
Respiratory system: mild nosebleeds.
Skin/immune system disorders: hypersensitivity reactions (including skin rash, urticaria, itching of the skin and mucous membranes). In extremely rare cases, severe hypersensitivity reactions with facial swelling, shortness of breath and a decrease in blood pressure are possible.
On the part of the hepatobiliary system: increased liver function tests. A causal relationship between the increase in these tests and the use of the drug has not been demonstrated.
