Composition
Composition per 1 capsule: dry cranberry extract; hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (E 464); microencapsulated strains Lactobacillus plantarum KABPTM 062 (CECT8675) and Lactobacillus plantarum KABPTM 063 (CECT8677); L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C); magnesium salts of fatty acids (E 470b); microcrystalline cellulose (E 460i).

Recommendations for use
- It can be recommended by a doctor in dietary diets as an additional source of biologically active substances of natural origin: microencapsulated complex of probiotic strains L. plantarum CECT8675 and L. plantarum CECT 8677, polyphenols, antioxidants, vitamin C, to improve the condition of the urinary tract in case of infections, as well as in case of vaginal dysbiosis;
- promoting energy metabolism and collagen formation in the walls of blood vessels;
- promoting the restoration of intestinal and vaginal microflora, improving digestive processes, strengthening immunity, preventing: dysbiosis, allergic manifestations and diarrhea resulting from taking antibiotics.
The Pembina-Biotic formula contains live lyophilized lactobacilli, which are part of the normal microflora of the human intestine and were specially developed to combat uropathogens of the urinary tract, intestines and vagina. L. plantarum CECT8675 and L. plantarum CECT 8677 have antipathogenic activity and good survival in the intestinal and vaginal environment. The microencapsulation form of the probiotic is an innovative technology of the AB-BIOTICS company. It allows you to protect live probiotic bacteria from the aggressive environment of the stomach, as well as cranberries and vitamin C, and deliver them to the site of action in the desired concentration. Cranberries prevent pathogens from adhering to the urinary tract epithelium. Cranberry anthocyanins in a dose of 240 mg help eliminate pathogenic bacteria from the urinary tract, and vitamin C helps to increase the immune response. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are bacterial infections that affect the urinary tract, including the bladder (cystitis) and urethra (urethritis). UTIs are primarily caused by pathogenic bacteria that migrate from the digestive tract to the bladder through the urethra. The most common pathogens of UTIs are Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Proteus mirabilis. An increase in the concentration of intestinal microorganisms in the urogenital tract can also lead to vaginal dysbiosis. In this case, the level of beneficial bacteria in the intestinal and vaginal contents decreases, and microorganisms such as Gardnerella and Mycoplasma hominis predominate. This confirms the relationship of dysbiotic processes occurring in different organs and the need for comprehensive correction of disturbances in the microflora of the digestive tract. Normalization of intestinal microflora is also relevant in the postpartum period, when the protective properties of the ecosystem are disrupted due to trauma to the birth canal and decreased estrogen levels. As a result, there is a high risk of developing postpartum infectious complications.
Having considered the composition of cranberries, it becomes clear why scientists have attributed this berry to the most useful foods for humans. Due to the high content of potassium salts and vitamin C, cranberries are very useful for supporting the body during infectious and colds, especially in the autumn-winter period. Studies by scientists around the world have revealed a positive effect of cranberries on the health of such a female disease as cystitis. Experts have proven that 1.5 cups of cranberry juice per day reduce the risk of exacerbation of this disease by half. Such a healing effect of cranberries is due to the content of proanthocyanidin and benzoic acid in it. Cranberries are considered a natural antibiotic due to their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, cranberries contain substances that prevent the formation of blood clots in blood vessels.
Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is an indispensable nutritional factor, as it is not synthesized in the human body. The biological properties of ascorbic acid are determined primarily by its ability to oxidize and transform into dehydroascorbic acid, the ascorbic acid-dehydroascorbic acid system is one of the main redox systems of the cell. Ascorbic acid takes part in the metabolism of amino acids, exerts a regulatory effect on the collagen system, which, along with other factors, ensures normal permeability of the vascular walls, i.e. is an antihemorrhagic factor in capillaropathy. Ascorbic acid stimulates hematopoiesis, increases the body's immune reactivity, increases the phagocytic activity of leukocytes, the bactericidal property of blood, stimulates the antitoxic and protein-forming functions of the liver. The use of ascorbic acid is useful in acute and chronic infectious diseases that occur with hemorrhagic syndrome, gastritis with hyposecretory function, enterocolitis, circulatory failure. Ascorbic acid exhibits the following metabolic action - catalyzes the action of amino acids: phenylalanine, tyrosine; converts the inactive form of folic acid into the active one; protects thiamine, riboflavin, pantothenic acid.
Properties
Pembina-Biotic is a microencapsulated complex of probiotic cultures, which has the following properties:
- prevents the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms in the intestines, which helps restore the balance of normal intestinal and vaginal microflora, eliminate dysbacteriosis and dysbiosis;
- increases local protection by reducing the penetration of pathogenic microorganisms through the intestinal wall: inhibits the adhesive properties of E. coli, inhibits the development in the intestine of fungi of the genus Candida albicans and non-albicans (C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, C. krusei), as well as many pathogenic microorganisms, in particular bacteria of the type Clostridium, Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus;
- stimulates the production of secretory IgA;
- helps reduce the number of recurrences of vulvovaginal candidiasis and UTIs.
Should not be used as a substitute for a complete diet.
Method of administration and doses
Adults and children over 3 years of age should take 1 capsule per day after meals with a glass of water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Duration of use: for at least 3 weeks. Best results when used for 6 weeks. Suitable for long-term use. The duration and possibility of repeated use should be agreed with the doctor.
