Composition
active ingredient:
1 ml of the medicinal product contains
1 ml of tincture (1:10) of Peony anomalae rhizome and roots (Paeoniae anomalae rhizoma et radix) and Peony anomalae herba (1/1) (extractant — ethanol 40% v/v);
excipients: none except extractant.
Dosage form
Tincture.
Main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid from light brown to brown in color, with a specific odor. During storage, sediment formation is allowed.

The grass, rhizomes and roots of the Peony unusual contain phenols, tannins, organic acids. "Peony tincture" has antispasmodic, anticonvulsant properties, the ability to increase stomach acidity and the body's resistance to hypoxia.

Indication
Functional disorders of the central nervous system (neurocirculatory dystonia of the hypertensive type, neurotic conditions).
Contraindication
Arterial hypotension. Individual hypersensitivity to biologically active substances contained in medicinal plant raw materials.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The drug may potentiate the effects of sedatives and hypnotics, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, antidepressants with sedative effects, and also enhances the effects of alcohol.
Application features
"Peony tincture" is a traditional herbal medicine for use according to indications, confirmed by long-term use.
It is not recommended to use the drug for a long time due to the ethanol content.
This medicinal product contains 35 vol. % ethanol (alcohol), i.e. 112–149 mg/dose (15–20 drops), which is equivalent to 2.8–3.7 ml of beer, 1.4–1.9 ml of wine per dose.
Harmful for patients with alcoholism. Caution should be exercised when used in pregnant and breastfeeding women, children, and patients with liver disease and epilepsy.
With prolonged use of large doses of the drug, it is necessary to monitor gastric acidity in patients with a tendency to increase it.
Shake before use.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
It is contraindicated to use the drug during pregnancy (has an abortifacient effect) or breastfeeding.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
During the treatment period, you should refrain from driving vehicles or other work that requires increased attention, speed of mental and motor reactions.
Method of administration and doses
Take orally 10–15 minutes before meals. Adults should be prescribed 15–20 drops of tincture.
2–3 times a day.
In the absence of a dropper stopper for the use of a medicinal product sealed with a stopper, use a glass medical pipette, while the dosage will not change.
The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually for each patient, taking into account the nature, severity and characteristics of the course of the disease, the stability of the achieved therapeutic effect and the tolerability of the drug.
The recommended duration of treatment is 2 weeks; if necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated after a break (after 2–3 months).
The patient should consult a doctor if the symptoms of the disease do not disappear while using the medicine or if adverse reactions not listed in the instructions for medical use of the medicine are observed.
Children.
The drug should not be used in pediatric practice.
Overdose
If the recommended doses are exceeded, drowsiness, decreased blood pressure, and dizziness are observed.
In case of overdose, the drug should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy should be applied (according to the patient's clinical condition).

From the side of the central nervous system: drowsiness, general weakness.
Cardiovascular system: arterial hypotension.
Local allergic reactions: hyperemia and skin rash, itching, swelling.
Expiration date
2.5 years.
