Composition
active ingredient: liquid extract of water pepper herb (Herba Polygoni hydropiperis) (1:1) (extractant – ethanol 70%);
1 bottle contains 25 ml or 50 ml of liquid extract of water pepper herb (Herba Polygoni hydropiperis) (1:1) (extractant – 70% ethanol).
Dosage form
The extract is liquid.
Main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid of greenish-brown color with a pleasant odor. Formation of sediment during storage is allowed.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
Water pepper extract has a hemostatic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and sedative effect.
Bioflavonoids contained in water pepper (rutin, quercetin, hyperoside, rhamnazine, kaempferol, myricetin, luteolin) exhibit P-vitamin activity, reduce capillary permeability, normalize the structure of the vascular wall, protect ascorbic acid contained in water pepper from oxidation. Together with ascorbic acid, they participate in redox reactions, reduce the activity of hyaluronidase. The hemostatic effect of the drug is combined with the ability to stimulate uterine muscle contractions, similar to ergot, but this property is much weaker.
The glycoside polygopiperine accelerates blood clotting.
Tannins have anti-inflammatory and astringent effects. Together with bioflavonoids, they have a synergistic hemostatic effect.
Pharmacokinetics.
The maximum pharmacological effect of bioflavonoids of water pepper is achieved by extraction with 70% ethyl alcohol. At this concentration, flavonoids are dissolved in it, which are both in free (aglycone) and bound (with the glycoside part) form. This achieves maximum absorption of the main substances that occur with the participation of flavonoids, they undergo hydrolysis into aglycone and glycoside. The first is excreted by the kidneys with urine and through the intestines with bile, the latter (carbohydrate residue) is either oxidized in the Krebs cycle to carbon dioxide and water, or is deposited as glycogen in the body.
Indication
As an auxiliary tool in obstetric and gynecological practice for uterine postpartum bleeding, uterine subinvolution, hypermenorrhea. In addition, it can be used for bleeding from small vessels of the stomach, intestines, and mild hemorrhoidal bleeding.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children under 12 years of age.
Special safety precautions
Do not use with dairy products to prevent the formation of non-absorbable complexes (chelates).

Use only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
Since the preparation contains ethanol, it is not recommended to use Pepper Water Extract while driving a car or performing work involving potentially dangerous mechanical devices.
Method of administration and doses
Adults should take 30-40 drops of pepper water extract 3-4 times a day (30 minutes before meals). The course of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease, the achieved effect, and the nature of the complex therapy.
Children.
The efficacy and safety of the drug in children under 12 years of age have not been established, therefore the drug is not recommended for use in this age group.
Overdose
Possible increase in adverse reactions. In case of overdose, treatment is symptomatic.
