Composition
active ingredient: peppermint leaf tincture;
1 bottle contains tincture of peppermint leaves (Menthae piperitae folium) (1:5) (extractant - ethanol 45% (v/v)) - 25 ml;
excipients: none except extractant.

Tincture.
Main physical and chemical properties: brown or brown with a greenish tint liquid, with a characteristic mint odor. During storage, precipitation is allowed.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. Peppermint oil (contains up to 70% menthol and its esters) and other biologically active substances contained in peppermint leaves (ketone-menthone, oleanolic and ursolic acids, flavonoid glycosides), stimulating sensitive receptors of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and stomach, reflexively reduce the feeling of nausea and prevent vomiting, and also have a moderate antispasmodic, sedative and choleretic effect.

Indication
For the symptomatic treatment of digestive disorders such as dyspepsia and flatulence.
Contraindication
Children under 12 years of age, bronchial asthma, broncho-obstructive syndrome, spasmophilia, individual intolerance to any of the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Not detected.
Application features
Patients with gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn) should avoid using the drug, as heartburn may worsen.
Patients with gallstone disease or other biliary tract diseases should be given preparations containing peppermint leaves with extreme caution. If symptoms worsen while using the medicine, a doctor should be consulted.
This medicinal product contains 39% (v/v) to 44% (v/v) ethanol (alcohol), i.e. 938-1058 mg per maximum dose (3 ml), equivalent to 24-27 ml of beer, 12-13 ml of wine per dose. Harmful to patients with alcoholism. Caution should be exercised when used in pregnant and nursing mothers, children, patients with liver disease and patients with epilepsy.
"Peppermint tincture" is a traditional medicinal product for use according to indications, confirmed by long-term use.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
The safety of use during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been established. Due to the lack of sufficient data, the use of the medicinal product during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.

Method of administration and doses
The medicine should be taken orally before meals. Adults and children over 12 years of age should be prescribed 1 teaspoon (2−3 ml) of tincture 3 times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and individual sensitivity to the drug.
If symptoms persist for longer than 2 weeks while using the medicine, you should consult a doctor.

It is not recommended to use "Peppermint Tincture" for children under 12 years of age due to the ethyl alcohol content of the drug.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible (including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling, urticaria, contact dermatitis), exacerbation of heartburn. If adverse reactions occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.
