General properties
The functional properties of the Pregnemag® dietary supplement are due to the physiological activity of biologically active substances that make up the active ingredients.
An important role for the normal development of the fetus and the physiological course of pregnancy is played by the full nutrition of the expectant mother. The diet of pregnant women should be balanced in terms of macro- and micronutrients, taking into account the growing needs for their intake, which, as the gestation period increases, become increasingly difficult to satisfy only through food products.
In this regard, the generally accepted tactic of pre-pregnancy preparation and pregnancy management is nutritional support, which involves the prophylactic administration of various vitamin-mineral complexes. The need for their use is beyond doubt among scientists and health care professionals. For example, magnesium is a mineral that is vital for ensuring the normal functioning of the human body. During pregnancy, the need for magnesium increases significantly, and the development of its deficiency is not only accompanied by discomfort, but also increases the risk of complications and adverse obstetric and neonatal consequences. Another biologically significant element is B vitamins, which are critically important for the absorption of magnesium, and at the same time necessary for the normal mental development of the unborn child.
Marine magnesium “Simag 55” produced in France, which is part of Pregnemag®, is a purified natural marine mineral extract. The specific geographical origin allows for a unique mineral profile. The mild process without solvents allows for a reduction in the sodium and chloride content in its composition. Magnesium is an essential nutrient and serves as a factor affecting over 300 enzymes involved in the biological processes of fetal formation.
Marine magnesium is an indispensable component of all enzymatic, ATP-dependent reactions; it participates in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, as well as in redox reactions. Magnesium activates glycolytic enzymes, cellular oxidation enzymes, nucleic acid synthesis enzymes; it also plays an important role in the processes of myocardial contraction. Magnesium is a platelet and fibrinogen stabilizer. The pathogenetic role of magnesium deficiency in arterial hypertension, vasospasm, neoplastic diseases and urolithiasis is generally recognized. Magnesium plays a leading role in neuromuscular excitation - in this process it is a calcium antagonist.
Magnesium is a stabilizer of the processes of mitosis and meiosis, which is the key to the formation of a genetically healthy embryo. Among the tissues of the human body, the placenta is characterized by one of the highest levels of magnesium. This is due to the high concentration of mitochondria in it - in fact, it is the center of energy metabolism, important for both the fetus and the maternal organism.
The daily requirement of magnesium for women is 280–300 mg (mg), and during pregnancy and lactation it increases by 20–30% to 340–355 mg (mg). The exact required dose of the trace element is calculated based on the following indicator: 3.6 mg2 per 1 kg of body weight per day. Some people need a larger amount of magnesium due to significant losses.
Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), which is part of Pregnemag®, is mainly involved in the metabolism of amino acids, in the form of pyridoxal phosphate it is part of enzymes that catalyze decarboxylation and reamination, as well as carbohydrates and fats. Promotes the transport of amino acids through the membrane; necessary for the activation of phosphorylase, the formation of neurotransmitters, gamma-aminobutyric acid, glycine, serotonin. Participates in the metabolism of vitamin B12, folic acid, the synthesis of porphyrins, unsaturated fatty acids. Activates metabolic processes in the myocardium, especially in hypoxia, may have neurotropic, hematopoietic, cardiotropic and hepatotropic properties. The mechanism of interaction between magnesium and vitamin B6 has not yet been precisely established. Symptoms of deficiency, as well as overdose of both components are similar, however, the symptoms of vitamin B6 deficiency are more pronounced with simultaneous magnesium deficiency, since magnesium is necessary for the activation of pyridoxine-dependent enzymatic systems. Insufficiency of this vitamin is often one of the causes of early toxicosis. For the fetus, vitamin B6 ensures the proper development of the brain and nervous system.
Orotic acid (vitamin B13), which is part of Pregnemag®, has a stimulating effect on protein metabolism (protein synthesis) and growth processes, has a beneficial effect on the functional state of the liver. Deficiency of orotic acid leads to impaired protein metabolism, methionine synthesis, folate metabolism and pantothenic acid conversion. The ability of orotic acid to stimulate protein synthesis is used in the feeding of premature infants.
Recommendations for use
It is recommended to be included in the diet as an additional source of biologically active substances to improve the general condition of women with magnesium and vitamin B6 and B13 deficiency, during pregnancy, as well as as a general tonic that has a beneficial effect on the state of the nervous system. It can also be recommended for people with chronic physical and mental fatigue, irritability, increased risk of stress, depression and sleep disorders.
It is not a medicine.
Method of administration and doses
Adults should take 1 capsule 2 times a day after meals. The capsules should be swallowed without chewing, with sufficient drinking water.
It is recommended to consult a doctor before use.
Duration of use: determined by the doctor individually, taking into account the nature and characteristics of the degree of vitamin and mineral deficiency, the stability of the achieved effect, and susceptibility.
Application features
When taking iron supplements, the interval between taking Pregnemag® and these drugs should be 2-3 hours. Regular daily consumption is especially important during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as the need for magnesium and B vitamins increases significantly during these periods.
Reservation
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.
Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to any of the components, children under 12 years of age, glomerulonephritis or pyelonephritis in the acute stage.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children.
