Drugs used in benign prostatic hypertrophy. ATX code G04C X.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
The preparation contains globulin obtained from Cucurbita pepo seeds.
Of the 15 amino acids isolated from this globulin and identified to date, glutamic acid is of particular importance. Glutamic acid catalyzes the oxidative deamination of amino acids and reduces the pathologically elevated level of free amino acids in the tissue of the hypertrophied prostate gland.
As a result, the number of amino acids that can be used for protein biosynthesis decreases and the proliferation of prostate tissue slows down.
Pumpkin seeds contain cucurbitin, phytosterols in free and bound form, tocopherols, as well as minerals, primarily selenium. Solidago (golden wormwood) increases the filtration capacity of the kidneys and thereby counteracts the formation of residual urine in stage II prostate adenoma. Increased tone of the bladder muscles leads to a decrease in symptoms of urination disorders, especially dysuria, and a decrease in the amount of residual urine. Solidago has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and diuretic effects. Populus tremula (aspen) contains many phenolic glycosides (salicin, populin and salipopulin). Salicin is oxidized in the human body and converted to salicylic acid, which has a disinfectant effect in urethrocystitis. Phenolic glycosides, which have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, reduce prostate pain and bladder sensitivity.
Showings
Urination disorders in benign prostatic hyperplasia (adenoma) of the prostate gland stages I-II: difficulty urinating, frequent urination, especially at night, feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder (presence of residual urine), irresistible urge to urinate.
Acute and chronic prostatitis (as part of complex therapy).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, salicylates, plants of the Asteraceae family.
Diseases that require fluid restriction, such as severe heart disease, severe kidney disease.
Special safety precautions

If, due to the underlying disease, symptoms such as fever, dysuric phenomena, cramps persist or hematuria and/or acute urinary retention appear, a doctor's consultation is necessary.
