Restasis ophthalmic emulsion 0.5 mg/ml single-use vial 0.4 ml No. 30

Restasis ophthalmic emulsion is indicated for increasing tear production in patients with suspected decreased tear production due to inflammatory eye disease associated with keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye syndrome).

Composition

Active ingredient: cyclosporine;

1 ml of emulsion contains 0.5 mg of cyclosporine;

Excipients: castor oil, glycerin, polysorbate 80, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug.

Infections of the eyes or surrounding tissues or suspected infections.

Method of application

Recommended dose: 1 drop of Restasis® instilled into each eye 2 times a day with an interval of 12 hours.

Before use, shake the bottle several times until a homogeneous opaque white emulsion is obtained. Restasis® can be used in combination with preparations containing artificial tears, observing an interval of 15 minutes between doses.

Drivers

Patients are advised not to drive or operate machinery until normal vision returns.

Overdose

Local overdose when instilling the drug into the eyes is unlikely. In the event of an overdose when using the drug, symptomatic and supportive therapy is necessary.

Side effects

In most cases, side effects when using the drug in clinical studies were local in nature and were mild or moderate in severity.

Interaction

Concomitant use of the drug with eye drops containing corticosteroids may enhance the effect of cyclosporine on the immune system.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C.

Store unused vials in the original packaging.

Keep out of reach of children.
