RhinoThyss spray nasal solution 0.1% bottle with sprayer 10 ml

The drug "Rinotaiss nasal spray" is intended for the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion in rhinitis, vasomotor and allergic rhinitis.
Composition
The active substance is xylometazoline hydrochloride (1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride; 1 injection (approximately 0.09 ml) contains approximately 0.09 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride).
Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, 50% solution; disodium phosphate, dodecahydrate; potassium dihydrogen phosphate; sodium chloride, purified water.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline hydrochloride or to any component of the drug, glaucoma, transsphenoidal hypophysectomy and surgical interventions with exposure of the meninges in history, dry rhinitis (rhinitis sicca) or atrophic rhinitis.
Method of application
Adults and children over 12 years of age should use one spray in each nostril 2-3 times a day. The recommended single dose should be administered no more than 3 times a day. The duration of use should not exceed 7 consecutive days.
Application features
Pregnant women
Data on the use of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy indicate an adverse effect of xylometazoline on pregnancy or on the health of the fetus / newborn. There are no other important epidemiological data. Therefore, the possibility of using the drug during pregnancy is determined by the doctor after a careful assessment of the benefit / risk ratio. Since an excessive dose may impair the blood supply to the fetus, the recommended dose should not be exceeded in case of use by pregnant women.
It is not known whether xylometazoline passes into breast milk. Therefore, the drug should be used during breastfeeding only as prescribed by a doctor after a careful assessment of the benefit/risk ratio. Since overdose may reduce breast milk production, the recommended dose should not be exceeded when used in breastfeeding women.
Children
The drug should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Drivers
When used correctly, any effect on the ability to drive or use other mechanisms is not expected, but the possibility of developing adverse reactions from the nervous system should be taken into account.
Overdose
The clinical picture of intoxication with imidazole derivatives can be confusing, as phases of excitation can alternate with phases of depression of the central nervous and cardiovascular systems. Symptoms of central nervous system excitation include anxiety, agitation, hallucinations and convulsions. Symptoms resulting from central nervous system depression include hypothermia, lethargy, drowsiness and coma.
Other symptoms may occur: miosis, mydriasis, fever, sweating, pallor, cyanosis, nausea, tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, cardiac arrest, hypertension, hypotension, pulmonary edema, dyspnea, and apnea.
Overdose, especially in children, often results in central nervous system-dominant effects with convulsions and coma, bradycardia, apnea, and hypertension, which may progress to hypotension.
All patients with suspected overdose should receive appropriate supportive measures and, if necessary, immediate symptomatic treatment under supervision. Medical care should include observation of the patient for several hours. In the case of severe overdose accompanied by cardiac arrest, resuscitation measures should last at least one hour.
Side effects
From the nervous system: rare - anxiety, insomnia, feeling of fatigue (drowsiness, sedative effect), headache, hallucinations (mainly in children).
From the cardiovascular system: rare - palpitations, tachycardia, hypertension; rare - arrhythmia.
On the part of the respiratory system, chest and mediastinum: often - burning and dryness of the nasal mucosa, sneezing; infrequently - after a decrease in the therapeutic effect - increased swelling of the mucous membrane, nosebleeds.
Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: rare - convulsions (especially in children).
On the part of the immune system: infrequently - hypersensitivity reactions (angioedema, rash, itching).
