Composition

active ingredient: rhizome flakes (Rhizomata Calami).

Dosage form

Rhizomes.

Main physical and chemical properties: crushed rhizomes of yellowish, pinkish, sometimes greenish color with a spicy-bitter taste. The smell is strong, pleasant.

Pharmacodynamics

The biologically active substances of the drug, acting on the endings of taste receptors, increase appetite, improve digestion, enhance the reflex secretion of gastric juice, enhance the bile secretion function of the liver, increase the tone of the gallbladder, and increase diuresis.

Aqueous extracts from rhizome pulp have tonic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, choleretic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, and disinfectant effects.

Indication

Nonspecific disorders of the digestive tract (lack of appetite, digestive and gastric secretion disorders, achilia, intestinal colic, flatulence) - as part of complex therapy. Locally for inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat.

Contraindication

Individual hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug. Increased acidity of gastric juice.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Reduces the effectiveness of antacids and H2-receptor blockers (ranitidine, famotidine).

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

There is no data on the effect of the drug on the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Rhizome extracts are contraindicated for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Method of administration and doses

Place 10 g (1 tablespoon) of rhizomes in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover and infuse in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue to a strained decoction. Bring the volume of the decoction to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm 3-4 times a day, 30 minutes before meals: adults and children over 14 years old - ¼ cup, children 12-14 years old - 2 tablespoons, children 7-12 years old - 1 tablespoon. Shake the decoction before taking. Use the prepared decoction in diluted form (dilute with water so that the volume increases by 2-3 times) to rinse the mouth and throat.

Place 3 filter bags in a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, cover and let steep for 15-20 minutes. Take warm 3-4 times a day, 30 minutes before meals: adults and children over 14 years old – ½ cup, children 12-14 years old – ¼ cup, children 7-12 years old – 2 tablespoons. Use the prepared infusion to rinse the mouth and throat.

The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually, taking into account the nature, severity and characteristics of the course of the disease, the stability of the achieved therapeutic effect and the tolerability of the drug.

Children

The drug should be used in children over 7 years of age.

Overdose

There have been no reports of overdose.
