Sodium chloride solution for injection 9 mg/ml ampoule 5 ml No. 10

Pharmacological properties
Sodium chloride solution 0.9% isotonic to human blood plasma. Sodium chloride, which enters the body in the required amount with food, enters the blood and intercellular fluid, due to which a constant osmotic pressure of the blood and intercellular fluid is largely maintained. With a deficiency of sodium and chlorine due to their increased elimination, caused by prolonged severe diarrhea, extensive burns, uncontrollable vomiting, hypofunction of the adrenal cortex and other pathological conditions, hemoconcentration occurs due to the transition of water from the blood to the tissues. With a significant deficiency, spasms of smooth and convulsive contractions of skeletal muscles occur, the function of the cardiovascular and nervous systems is disrupted. Isotonic sodium chloride solution replenishes the BCC in the bloodstream when it decreases, normalizes ionic balance. It has a detoxification effect. It does not have an irritating effect with different routes of administration. Isotonic sodium chloride solution is also used to dissolve medicines.
Indication
Toxic dyspepsia, uncontrollable vomiting, cholera, poisoning, acute blood loss, shock, postoperative period, etc. Externally for various diseases of the eyes, nose, mucous membranes, for washing wounds.
Application
In / in, s / c, rectally (enemas). Sterile solution is most often administered iv drip in a volume of 5-10 ml to 2 l. In cholera, in the postoperative period, in toxic dyspepsia, the volume of the injected solution can reach 3 l/day. In s / c administration, the volume of the solution depends on the indications.
75-100 ml of solution is administered rectally. A sterile solution is also used to wash the eyes, nose, and wounds.

Intravenous administration is contraindicated in thrombophlebitis, hypercoagulable states, severe kidney disease, and decompensated heart disease. Isotonic sodium chloride solution should not be infused in circulatory disorders that can cause pulmonary and cerebral edema, or in hypernatremia.
Side effects
When administered in large volumes, it may lead to the development of chloride acidosis, increased potassium elimination and hypokalemia, and hyperhydration. If these complications develop, the administration of the drug is canceled.
Special instructions
Due to the rapid removal of saline solution of sodium chloride from the vascular bed in shock and blood loss, to compensate for its insufficient effectiveness, hemotransfusions are simultaneously performed, plasma and plasma-substituting agents are transfused. With prolonged administration of saline solution of sodium chloride, especially in large volumes, the electrolyte content in blood plasma and urine, diuresis are monitored. It is administered with caution to patients with impaired renal excretory function.
Interactions
Sodium chloride solution should not be infused while taking high doses of corticosteroids.
