Soliqua solution for injection 100 U/ml + 33 mcg/ml 3 ml cartridge in disposable syringe pen No. 3

Soliqua is used in the treatment of diabetes to maintain normal blood sugar levels.

Composition

Active ingredient: insulin glargine 3.6378 mg (100 U), lixisenatide 33 mcg;

Excipients: glycerol (85%); methionine (L-methionine); metacresol (m-cresol); zinc chloride; hydrochloric acid; sodium hydroxide; water for injections

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients included in the preparation.

Method of application

It is administered subcutaneously (into the stretched skin on the thigh, buttocks, shoulder, abdomen). After injection, the needle remains under the skin for another 6 seconds, which contributes to the administration of the full dose. Periodic change of the injection site reduces lipodystrophy. It is strictly forbidden to administer the drug intravenously.

Overdose

Symptoms: hypoglycemia and gastrointestinal HP may develop if the required dose of Soliqua is exceeded.

Treatment: Mild episodes of hypoglycemia can usually be treated with easily digestible carbohydrates. Adjustment of drug dose, diet, or exercise intensity may be necessary.

Side effects

The most common adverse reactions (ARs) during treatment with Soliqua were hypoglycemia and gastrointestinal ADRs.

Interaction

Substances that may enhance the hypoglycaemic effect of insulin and increase the susceptibility to hypoglycaemia include oral antidiabetic medicinal products, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, disopyramide, fibrates, fluoxetine, monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, pentoxifylline, propoxyphene, salicylates and sulphonamide antimicrobials.

Storage conditions

Store in a dark place at 2-8°C (do not freeze).
