"Sonomedin®" is a natural remedy for improving sleep, quality and duration.

Active ingredients

Valerian extract (Valeriana officinalis) reduces the excitability of the central nervous system, reduces symptoms of stress, thereby promoting rapid sleep. Its action is due to the essential oil, most of which is an ester of borneol alcohol and isovaleric acid. Valepotriates and alkaloids valerine and hotinine also have sedative properties. Clinical studies have shown a significant improvement in subjective sleep quality assessments after taking valerian extract. The extract has a strong effect on other ingredients. L-theanine is an amino acid of natural origin, which is obtained from glutamic acid. It is mainly found in tea (Camellia sinensis). L-theanine penetrates the blood-brain barrier, has a relaxing effect, helps calm thoughts caused by everyday stress, and accelerates sleep. L-theanine promotes the synthesis of GABA in the brain and can stimulate GABA receptors. GABA is a key neurotransmitter responsible for inhibitory processes. L-theanine produces and regulates alpha brain waves (frequency 8-12 Hz), which are responsible for relaxation and facilitate and accelerate falling asleep. Melatonin (melatoninum) is a neurohormone of the pineal gland (epiphysis). Melatonin secretion physiologically increases after dark, reaches a peak between two and four o'clock in the morning and decreases in the second half of the night. Melatonin regulates circadian rhythms and maintains the sleep-wake cycle. The action of melatonin on MT1-, MT2-, MT3-receptors contributes to sleep quality, since these receptors (mainly MT1 and MT2) are involved in the regulation of circadian rhythms and sleep. With age, the production of endogenous melatonin decreases, so melatonin improves sleep quality, especially in patients with primary insomnia over 55 years of age. Melatonin has antioxidant properties, which explains its membrane-stabilizing effect. Normalizes the permeability of the vascular wall and increases its resistance, improves microcirculation. Melatonin improves only the impaired functional state of the endothelium, without affecting the normal function of the endothelium. Melatonin reduces systolic blood pressure and heart rate in elderly patients at rest and reduces the increase in blood pressure during psycho-emotional activity. Melatonin normalizes the autonomic nervous regulation of the cardiovascular system mainly at night, which improves the diurnal profile of blood pressure.

Recommendations for use
