Composition

active ingredients: menthol, camphor, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, clove oil, cinnamon oil;

1 g of balm contains menthol 41 mg, camphor 258 mg, peppermint oil 125 mg, eucalyptus oil 88 mg, clove oil 9 mg, cinnamon oil 14 mg;

excipients: beeswax, paraffin, lanolin, white soft paraffin, methyl orange.

Balm.

Main physicochemical properties: balm of plastic consistency from light yellow to brownish yellow with the smell of essential oils.

Pharmacological properties

The drug belongs to the group of agents that stimulate the receptors of the mucous membranes, skin and subcutaneous tissues. The balm has anti-inflammatory, local warming, antiseptic, anesthetic properties, also dilates capillaries, improving blood supply and slightly lowering blood pressure, acts on the reflex centers of the central nervous system, exhibiting a stimulating effect. The action of the balm Zirka is manifested by the weakening of the inflammatory process and the reflex elimination of pain (head, muscle) caused by influenza, colds, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, skin lesions and other factors.

Indication

Symptomatic treatment of dizziness, headache, cold, runny nose, nausea; insect bites.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug. Bronchial asthma, whooping cough, pseudocroup, tendency to bronchospasm or convulsions. Skin damage, including burns, impaired skin integrity, eczema, dermatitis, pustular skin diseases.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Studies on the interaction of the drug with other drugs have not been conducted.

Application features

For external use only. Avoid contact of the balm with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds. Do not rub into the nostrils. In rare cases, allergic reactions are possible. If such reactions occur, discontinue use of the medicinal product and wash off its residues from the application sites with warm water and soap.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Due to the lack of experience with the use of Zirka balm during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is not recommended to prescribe the drug to this category of patients.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

In case of adverse reactions from the nervous system (dizziness, agitation, convulsions), you should refrain from driving or working with other mechanisms.

Method of administration and doses

Apply a small amount of balm to individual areas and rub into the skin: for headaches - in the area of the temples and back of the head; for a runny nose - under the nostrils; for colds - in the area of the chest, back, abdomen; for insect bites - at the site of the bite.

The duration of treatment depends on the individual characteristics of the patient, the course of the disease and is determined by the achieved therapeutic effect, the nature of the complex therapy and the tolerability of the drug.

Children

Contraindicated for children under 3 years of age.

The drug should be used with caution in children aged 3 years and older on the face, as it may cause bronchospasm.

Overdose

Possible increased manifestations of adverse reactions, a feeling of intense heat and burning.

Accidental ingestion may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, symptoms of central nervous system depression, dizziness, ataxia, convulsions, hot flashes, drowsiness, and difficulty breathing.

Treatment: wash off the applied drug with soap and water. Gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, including skin rashes, urticaria, itching, skin and mucous membrane irritation, redness, dermatitis, including contact dermatitis, especially in children.

From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, agitation; possible occurrence of convulsions caused by camphor.

On the part of the respiratory system: the likelihood and frequency of bronchospasm increases, especially in children.

5 years.

Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
