Composition
active ingredients: 1 ml of the drug contains: valerian tincture (valerianae tinctura) (1:5) (extractant – ethanol 70%) – 0.4 ml, wormwood tincture (Absinthii tinctura) (1:5) (extractant – ethanol 70%) – 0.3 ml, peppermint tincture (Menthae piperitae tinctura) (1:20) (extractant – ethanol 90%) – 0.2 ml, belladonna tincture (Belladonnae tinctura) (1:10) (extractant – ethanol 40%) – 0.1 ml.

Main physical and chemical properties: red-brown liquid with a characteristic odor. During storage, precipitation is possible.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. The analgesic effect of drops for gastralgia is due to the action of the sum of the alkaloids of the wormwood. The drug has a moderate antispasmodic effect, has a sedative effect due to valerian and peppermint, which are part of the drug; wormwood tincture normalizes the functions of the stomach, reflexively causes increased secretion of gastric juice, improving the digestive process.

Indication
Gastralgia, non-ulcer dyspepsia, chronic gastritis with reduced gastric secretory function, hyperkinetic biliary dyskinesia.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Gastrointestinal tract diseases accompanied by obstruction, increased gastric secretion, gastric and duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis. Gallstone disease. Urinary retention or tendency to it.
Cardiovascular diseases in which an increase in heart rate is undesirable: atrial fibrillation; tachycardia, chronic heart failure, ischemic heart disease, mitral stenosis, severe arterial hypertension. Glaucoma.
Epilepsy, depression and other diseases accompanied by suppression of the central nervous system.
Bronchial asthma. Spasmophilia. Myasthenia. Hyperthermic syndrome. Thyrotoxicosis. Acute bleeding. History of pelvic bleeding. Anemia.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Valerian, which is part of the drug, may potentiate the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, analgesics, antispasmodics, and cardiac drugs.
Alkaloids of the beauty reduce or stop the action of m-cholinomimetics, anticholinesterase substances, potentiate the arrhythmogenic effect of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, cardiac glycosides, clonidine, cholinolytic properties of quinidine, novocainamide, effects of barbiturates, adrenomimetics, antihistamines, tranquilizers. The drug forms precipitates with lead acetate, calcium salts, tannin, and lily of the valley tincture.
Application features
Patients with gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn) should avoid using the drug as heartburn may increase.
Failure to follow the recommendations for using the medicine may harm your health.
The effect of the drug is reduced in people who smoke and eat spicy and hot food.

Method of administration and doses
Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 15–30 drops orally with a small amount of boiled water 3–4 times a day, half an hour before meals. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the achieved effect and tolerability of the drug.

Overdose
Symptoms: increased manifestations of adverse reactions, headache, dizziness, general weakness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, tachycardia, decreased blood pressure, agitation, irritability, tremor, insomnia, hyperthermia, central nervous system depression, decreased hearing and vision acuity, depression of the activity of the respiratory and vascular centers, loss of consciousness.
Treatment. Immediately discontinue use of the drug. Gastric lavage, parenteral administration of cholinomimetics and anticholinesterase agents. Treatment is symptomatic.
Side effects
With individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, the development of local allergic reactions (rash, itching, hyperemia and swelling of the skin) is possible.
From the side of the central nervous system: drowsiness, inhibition of emotional reactions, mental depression.
On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: dry mouth, feeling of thirst, taste disturbance, dysphagia, decreased intestinal motility up to atony, decreased tone of the biliary tract and gallbladder, nausea, vomiting, spastic abdominal pain.
Cardiac disorders: palpitations; arrhythmia, including extrasystole; myocardial ischemia.
Vascular disorders: facial flushing, hot flushes.
Neurological disorders: headache, dizziness, dysarthria. Long-term use may cause so-called wormwood epilepsy.
On the part of the organs of vision: dilated pupils, photophobia, accommodation paralysis, increased intraocular pressure.
On the part of the respiratory system and mediastinal organs: a decrease in secretory activity and bronchial tone, which leads to the formation of viscous sputum, which is difficult to cough up.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: urticaria, exfoliative dermatitis, hyperemia.
Immune system disorders: anaphylactic reactions, angioedema, anaphylactic shock.
Others: decreased sweating, dry skin, decreased performance, weakness.
