Strataderm scar treatment gel 5 g

Strataderm clear silicone gel dries quickly and is non-sticky. It is used to treat both new and old scars.
Strataderm Gel is easily applied to all areas of the skin, including exposed areas such as the face and neck; as well as joints and hairy areas without the need for shaving. When used as directed, Strataderm Gel dries quickly to form a thin silicone film.
The protective layer, which is gas-permeable and waterproof, moisturizes and protects the scar from chemical and bacterial exposure, allowing the scar to normalize the collagen synthesis cycle.
Strataderm Gel softens and smoothes scars, eliminates itching and discomfort, eliminates redness and changes in scar color. Strataderm Gel is used to treat all types of scars, including those resulting from: general surgery, injuries, old wounds, burns, bites, acne and other skin diseases.
The International Clinical Guidelines for Scar Management state that “silicone gel should be used as a first-line therapy in the initial stages of scar treatment and as a prevention of hypertrophic and keloidal scars.”

Strataderm Gel can also be used in conjunction with other invasive techniques to improve the overall outcome, including surgical excision and suturing, injections, and compression bandages.
Strataderm gel can be used on the skin of children (including infants), pregnant women, breastfeeding women; and sensitive and allergy-prone skin.
Method of application
Make sure the scar is clean and dry. Apply a very thin layer of Strataderm Gel to the scar and allow it to dry.
Apply Strataderm Gel to the affected areas of skin once or twice a day, or as directed by your doctor. For best results, keep Strataderm Gel in constant contact with the scar.
When used correctly, Strataderm gel will dry completely within 3-4 minutes. If it takes longer to dry completely, you may be applying too much gel.
Gently blot any excess gel with a tissue and allow the gel to dry. Once Strataderm Gel has dried, you can apply sunscreen, cosmetics, compression bandages or a cast.
Strataderm Gel is recommended to be used for a minimum of 60-90 days (24/7). For larger and older scars, the duration of use may be longer. Use until no further improvement is observed.
