Streptocide is a chemotherapeutic agent for topical use. Indications for use are infected superficial wounds of various etiologies and burns (I and II degrees), pyoderma, erysipelas and superficial infectious-inflammatory processes of the skin.

Contraindication

Increased individual sensitivity to sulfonamide or to any other sulfonamide drugs; renal failure; acute porphyria; diseases of the blood system; acute hepatitis; congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Method of application

Adults usually use Streptocide powder once every 1–2 days.

The powder should be sprinkled on the surface to be treated, the amount of the drug depends on the size of the affected area. If necessary, after applying the drug, a gauze bandage can be applied to the affected area of the skin. The maximum single dose for adults is 5 g, the maximum daily dose for adults is 15 g. The frequency and duration of use depend on the severity of the disease, the achieved therapeutic effect and are determined by the doctor individually.

Application features

If an allergic reaction occurs at the site of application of the powder, the drug should be discontinued. Premature discontinuation of treatment with the drug may cause the development of sulfonamide-resistant microorganisms.

Do not allow the drug to get into the eyes.

Pregnant women

Contraindicated use of the drug.

Children

Used in children aged 3 years and over as prescribed by a doctor after a careful assessment of the benefit/risk ratio.

Does not affect.

Overdose

Overdose may increase the side effects of the drug.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible, including dermatitis and urticaria, the development of which requires immediate discontinuation of the drug.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Keep out of reach of children.
