Instructions for use: Sulfuric ointment simple 33% tube 25 g

Composition

active ingredient: 1 g of ointment contains 0.333 g of sulfur;

excipients: white soft paraffin, purified water, emulsifier T-2.

Dosage form

Ointment.

Main physicochemical properties: ointment of yellow or light yellow color, odorless. The ointment should be homogeneous in appearance.

Acne treatment drugs. Drugs containing sulfur.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. The drug has antimicrobial and antiparasitic effects. When sulfur interacts with organic substances, sulfides and pentathionic acid are formed, which have an antiseptic effect.

Pharmacokinetics. When sulfur ointment is applied externally, simple sulfur and petroleum jelly, which are part of it, are practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation.

Indication

As part of the combination therapy of skin diseases - seborrhea, sycosis, psoriasis, mycosis, scabies.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Children under 3 years of age.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Interaction of the ointment with oxidants (hydrogen peroxide solution, potassium permanganate) may lead to chemical burns. When used simultaneously with drugs for external use, new compounds with unpredictable effects may be formed.

Application features

Avoid contact of the ointment with mucous membranes and eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after applying the ointment.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

The safety and clinical efficacy of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding have not been studied, therefore the ointment can be used only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

The use of the ointment does not affect the ability to drive or operate other mechanisms.

Method of administration and doses

The medicine is for external use.

Adults and children over 3 years of age should apply the ointment to the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day.

When treating scabies, the regimen for using the drug and the requirements for observing personal hygiene rules are determined individually.

The duration of the treatment course depends on the achieved therapeutic effect and tolerability of the drug.

The user should consult a doctor if the symptoms of the disease do not disappear during the use of the medicinal product or if adverse reactions are observed that are not listed in the instructions for medical use of the medicinal product.

Children

The drug is contraindicated in children under 3 years of age. In the treatment of children aged 3 to 12 years, the ointment can be used on the recommendation of a doctor after assessing the risk/benefit ratio.
