Tamistol suppositories 0.015 g blister No. 5

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. Miramistin - the active ingredient of the drug - belongs to the cationic surfactant class. Due to its chemical structure, the compound interacts with the lipid layer of the bacterial wall, which leads to the destruction of the microorganism membrane. The spectrum of action of Miramistin is wide and diverse. The pronounced bactericidal effect of Miramistin is noted when exposed to cocci, primarily staphylococci and streptococci (in particular pneumococci), as well as gonococci and other gram-negative pathogens (including chlamydia, treponema pallidum). Miramistin is characterized by high activity against microorganisms of both aerobic and anaerobic types, forming and not forming spores, as well as against large viruses (for example, herpes). A decrease in the activity of HIV (up to 1000 times) under the influence of Miramistin has been established.
Miramistin has fungicidal properties. Yeast fungi and fungi of the genus Candida, Ascomycetes, dermatophytes, the causative agent of tinea versicolor, etc. are sensitive to it.
Of great interest is the activity of miramistin against associations of microorganisms and multi-resistant hospital strains, as well as the increase in the sensitivity of antibiotic-resistant strains when used. Studies have shown a significant inhibitory effect of miramistin on the formation of biofilms and existing biofilms of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and β-hemolytic streptococcus group A.
The local effect of Miramistin leads to enhanced regeneration of damaged tissues and improves the effect of treating chronic epithelial defects.
The wide range of antimicrobial and antiviral effects of Miramistin ensures its use is highly effective in preventing contamination of damaged epithelium, as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
Pharmacokinetics. Topical application eliminates the possibility of the substance entering the systemic bloodstream due to the inability to absorb it through epithelial covers.
Indication
Inflammatory processes of fungal or bacterial origin in the vaginal mucosa (both in the acute and chronic period); prevention of the development of inflammatory complications after gynecological interventions.
Prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the rectum and/or sigmoid colon; infectious process in the rectum after surgery.
Application
Prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 suppository intravaginally 10-15 minutes before sexual intercourse.
Vaginitis, acute course: 1 suppository intravaginally twice a day, course - 1 week. Vaginitis, subacute or chronic course: regardless of the phase of the menstrual cycle, vaginally 1 suppository per day (before bedtime), course - 2 weeks. If necessary, the duration of therapy may be increased. For the purpose of prevention, 1 suppository per day is used (for 2-3 days).
After proctological operations: 1 suppository per day rectally, course - 1 week. Treatment of chronic inflammation of the mucous membrane of the rectum and / or sigmoid colon: after micro-enema with water, 1 suppository per day rectally, course - 1-2 weeks.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the drug, pregnancy (intravaginal use).
Side effects
Individual episodes of short-term burning sensation (lasting up to 15-20 seconds) are possible, which do not require termination of therapy.
