Pharmacological properties

Thyme herb contains essential oil, flavonoids, tannins and bitter substances, gum, triterpene acids (ursolic and oleanolic), mineral salts. Thyme preparations have an expectorant, antibacterial, antispasmodic and analgesic effect, have a calming effect on the central nervous system, and stimulate the secretion of gastric juice.

Indication

Respiratory tract diseases (laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia); gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by secretory insufficiency of the stomach, atony or intestinal spasms, flatulence.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or other plants of the Lamiaceae family, as well as to celery and birch pollen (cross-reaction is possible). Severe liver and kidney diseases.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Application features

If symptoms persist for one week or worsen during treatment with the drug, and/or shortness of breath, fever, purulent sputum appear, you should consult a doctor.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Method of administration and doses

Place 1 tablespoon of the herb in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and infuse in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue to a strained infusion. Bring the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Adults take 1/3 cup warm 3-4 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals. Children 4-5 years old - 1 dessert spoon, 5-7 years old - 1 tablespoon,

7-12 years old – 2 tablespoons, 12-14 years old – 1/4 cup, over 14 years old – 1/3 cup

3 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.

Place 3 filter bags in a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, close and let stand for 15 minutes. Adults take 1/3 cup warm 3-4 times a day for

15-20 minutes before meals. Children 4-5 years old - 1 dessert spoon, 5-7 years old - 1 tablespoon, 7-12 years old - 2 tablespoons, 12-14 years old - 1/4 cup, over 14 years old - 1/3 cup 3 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals.

Store the prepared water extract in the refrigerator (at a temperature of 2-8 °C) for no more than 2 days.

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually for each patient.

Overdose

Overdose may cause nausea, discomfort, and headache. Treatment is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions (hyperemia, rashes, itching and swelling of the skin), gastrointestinal disorders (including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) are possible. If adverse reactions occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Expiration date

2 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
