Tolperil is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. When in contact with sensory nerve endings, it contributes to the loss of pain sensitivity of peripheral nerve endings. Reduces muscle tone and rigidity. Increases peripheral blood circulation regardless of the effect on the central nervous system. Has a weakly expressed antispasmodic and vasodilator effect.

The injection solution additionally contains lidocaine hydrochloride, which has the ability to block sodium channels, as a result of which neuronal membranes are stabilized, their permeability decreases, and the ability to conduct impulses is lost.

Due to the combined action of the active substances, the drug has a rapid analgesic effect and relieves muscle spasm.

Indication

Muscle spasticity, including post-stroke spasticity, in cases where the injectable form is the form of choice.

Contraindication

Method of administration and doses

The course of treatment and dose are individually determined by the doctor.

Adults are prescribed intramuscularly 1 ml 2 times a day or slowly intravenously 1 ml 1 time a day.

Children

Not used in pediatric practice, safety of use has not been established.

Overdose

Ataxia, convulsions, and respiratory arrest are possible.

In this case, drug withdrawal and supportive therapy are required.

Composition

Active ingredients in 1 ml of solution:

tolperisone hydrochloride - 100 mg

lidocaine hydrochloride - 2.5 mg

Excipients: diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, methylparaben (E 218), water for injections.
