Turusol solution irrigation container 1000 ml

Turusol is used as an irrigation solution during endoscopic operations and diagnostic procedures: transurethral resection of the prostate and other transurethral surgical procedures, hysteroscopy, arthroscopy.

Pharmacological properties

When the drug is absorbed into the bloodstream, mannitol is metabolized to a small extent in the liver to form glycogen and excreted by the kidneys. Since sorbitol is involved in the metabolism of lactate from pyruvate, the absorption of sorbitol causes a slight increase in the level of lactate in the blood plasma, but this lactate concentration is not sufficient to develop acidosis. In the case of absorption of the drug, its components are rapidly excreted by the kidneys.

Application

When using the drug Turusol, a sterile system for single use is used. The recommended height of the container above the level of the operating field is no higher than 60 cm, thereby minimizing the possibility of intravascular absorption of the drug. The amount of the drug used depends on the volume and duration of the surgical intervention.

Anury.

Side effects

They may occur with intravascular absorption of the drug, which is manifested by dry mouth, thirst, hypotension, tachycardia, nausea, and vomiting.

Special instructions

The drug is used with caution in diseases of the cardiovascular system and renal failure.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

No studies have been conducted on the use of Turusol during pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore, the use of the drug during this period is not recommended.

Children

The use of Turusol in children has not been studied, therefore the use of the drug in pediatric practice is not recommended.

The ability to influence the reaction speed when driving or working with mechanisms

The drug is used only in a hospital setting.

Overdose

Rapid administration of the drug in a dose of 5000 ml can lead to an increase in the volume of extracellular fluid, hyponatremia and hyperkalemia, as well as to volume overload of the heart, especially in acute renal failure or chronic renal failure, and dehydration.
