Composition

active ingredient: benzoyl peroxide;

1 ml of lotion contains 0.1 g of benzoyl peroxide;

Excipients: disodium edetate, carbomer 940, brium 30, diisopropanolamine, purified water.

Dosage form

Lotion.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

Benzoyl peroxide has antiseptic and keratolytic properties, inhibits (due to the release of oxygen) the development of anaerobic microorganisms Propionibacterium in acne, and helps cleanse pores.

Pharmacokinetics.

The drug penetrates the skin, where it is converted into benzoic acid.

Indication

Topical treatment and prevention of acne (Acne vulgaris) in adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to benzoyl peroxide and other components of the drug.

Children under 12 years old.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Simultaneous use of Ugresol with other acne treatment preparations containing resorcinol, salicylic acid, sulfur, tretinoin, alcohol, as well as with creams and lotions for and after shaving, medical cosmetics, abrasive and medical soaps, facial cleansers, may cause cumulative irritation and increased skin dryness.

Application features

The drug is intended for cutaneous use only.

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Discoloration of hair, eyebrows and dyed fabrics is possible.

To prevent an allergic reaction, it is recommended to apply Ugresol to a small area of skin on the wrist and observe for 48 hours: if swelling or itching with severe hyperemia appears, discontinue use. In the first weeks of treatment, slight peeling and redness of the skin may occur, which disappears over time.

The drug should not be used in the elderly.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

The drug may be systemically absorbed. It is not known whether benzoyl peroxide passes into breast milk. No studies have been conducted on this issue.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

The drug does not affect the ability to drive.

Method of administration and doses

Shake the bottle several times before use.

Apply a thin layer of the drug to cleansed and dried skin affected by acne, gently rub with fingertips until completely absorbed. Start using once a day, then gradually increase to 2-3 times a day. In case of excessive dryness or peeling, reduce use to once a day or every other day. The optimal therapeutic effect usually develops within 8-12 weeks from the start of use. For preventive purposes, treatment can be continued once a day until a stable remission is achieved. The course of use should not exceed three months.

In severe cases, Ugresol is combined with other acne treatments.

Children

Contraindicated for children under 12 years of age.

Overdose

Symptoms: excessive redness, dryness, burning, itching, peeling or swelling of the skin.

Treatment: it is recommended to wipe the skin with a gauze or cotton swab moistened with vegetable oil. Symptoms require medical intervention only if they persist for a long time and cause concern. Sometimes it is necessary to use creams or ointments containing glucocorticosteroids.

Side effects

In some cases, a few days after the start of treatment, the drug may cause irritation, accompanied by redness, peeling or dryness of the skin, a feeling of warmth, tingling, burning and itching.

Very rare: skin rashes, allergic contact dermatitis (burning, blistering and crusting, itching, redness or swelling).

Minor irritation can be relieved by reducing the frequency of application (once a day or every other day). In case of severe irritation, discontinue use of the lotion.

Expiration date

2 years.

Store out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºС.
