The drug "Valerian rhizome with roots" is used for the following indications:

Composition

One pack contains (active ingredient) valerian rhizomes with roots (Valerianae rhizomata cum radicibus) - 50 g.

Contraindication

Method of application

Place one dessert spoon of rhizomes with roots in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Bring the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Apply warm 3-4 times a day 30 minutes after meals:

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually for each patient. The infusion must be shaken before use.

Pregnant women

The use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Children

The drug should be used in children over 6 years of age as prescribed by a doctor.

Drivers

Since valerian preparations may cause drowsiness and depression in some patients, caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery during treatment.

Overdose

Overdose and prolonged use (more than 2 months) can provoke feelings of depression, increased fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, bradycardia, increased blood clotting. Symptomatic therapy (gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal, sodium sulfate).

Side effects

In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, sleep disturbances and the manifestation of the opposite stimulating effect are possible, as well as the development of allergic reactions (including rash, itching, hyperemia, swelling of the skin). Intestinal spasms, nausea, intestinal dysfunction; headache, bradycardia, arrhythmia, weakness, drowsiness, depression, decreased performance are possible.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.

Store the prepared infusion at a temperature of 8-15 °C for no more than 2 days.

Shelf life - 3 years.
