Vicryl sutures are made by interlacing thin fibers of glycolic and lactic acid. A special coating of the thread improves its properties and makes them optimal for both the surgeon and the patient. The combination of carefully woven monofilaments and a chemically bonded coating of the entire thread is the key to excellent manipulation properties and unhindered passage through tissues.
