Vicryl W9441 purple No. 0 length 90 cm barbed needle 35 mm circumference 1/2

VICRYL synthetic polyfilament suture (USP thread thickness 0) is absorbable and is widely used for soft tissue approximation and ligature application, including ophthalmic surgery, for suturing peripheral nerves, and in microsurgery for suturing vessels.
Polyfilament sutures have good handling properties and hold knots securely in place.
The process of resorption occurs by hydrolysis. Due to the hydrolysis reaction, the tensile strength of Vicryl decreases during implantation into the wound.
Vicryl usually dissolves between 56 and 70 days.
Surgical needles are mainly made of a special alloy called ETHALLOY, which provides 40% more resistance to deformation than conventional surgical steel.
Many needles have a longitudinal groove in the needle holders, which also fixes the needle in the needle clamp.
