Volutens solution for infusion is indicated for:
Prevention and treatment of relative or absolute hypovolemia or shock. Prevention of arterial hypotension (including during induction of epidural or spinal anesthesia). Procedures involving extracorporeal circulation (including on a heart-lung machine).Composition
Active ingredients: 1000 ml of solution contain:
gelatin polysuccinate - 40.0 g; sodium acetate trihydrate - 3.675 g; sodium chloride - 4.590 g; potassium chloride - 0.403 g; calcium chloride dihydrate - 0.133 g; magnesium chloride hexahydrate - 0.203 g; sodium hydroxide - 0.980 gExcipients: water for injections.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Hyperhydration. Hypervolemia. Severe heart failure. Severe renal failure. Recent myocardial infarction. Severe blood clotting disorders. Hypernatremia. Hyperkalemia. Dehydration.Method of application
Intravenous administration.
Before administration, the solution should be warmed to body temperature.
When administering Volutens by pressurized infusion (including using a cuff or infusion pump), all air must be removed from the container and administration system before administering the solution, as there is a risk of air embolism during infusion.
Application features
Pregnant women
The drug should be used during pregnancy only if absolutely necessary and only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Children
The drug is recommended for use in children aged 6 years and older.
Overdose
Overdose or too rapid administration of the drug Volutens can lead to unintentional hypervolemia and circulatory overload, associated with subsequent impairment of heart and lung function. Symptoms of circulatory overload include, in particular, headache, shortness of breath and jugular venous congestion. In case of overdose, there is a risk of hyperhydration, electrolyte and acid-base imbalance.
At the first signs of circulatory overload, the infusion should be stopped immediately. Treatment is symptomatic.
Side effects
After administration of Volutens, as with any colloidal volume substitutes, anaphylactoid reactions of varying severity may develop.
Anaphylactoid reactions of I-II degree include fever, sudden redness of the face and neck, itching, local erythema, paresthesias, headache, flushing, rash (urticaria), swelling of the mucous membranes, tachycardia, arterial hypotension, shortness of breath, cough, nausea, vomiting.
Interaction
Mixing Volutens with other drugs may lead to incompatibility. Volutens should not be administered simultaneously with fat emulsions. Incompatible with solutions containing phosphates and carbonates.
Caution should be exercised in patients who are concurrently taking medications that may cause potassium or sodium retention.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Do not freeze. Use immediately after opening.
Shelf life - 2 years.
