Pharmacological properties

Water for injection is pyrogen-free, chemically inactive, and has no pharmacological effect.

Indication

Water for injection should be used to prepare sterile solutions of medicinal and diagnostic agents intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous administration.

Contraindication

Do not use water for injection as a solvent for medicinal and diagnostic drugs unless the instructions for medical use of the drug specify a different solvent. Do not use the drug for eye irrigation during ophthalmic operations.

Water for injection does not exhibit pharmacological or chemical interactions with medicinal and diagnostic agents intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous administration.

Water for injection is intended only for the preparation of sterile solutions of medicinal and diagnostic agents intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous administration, the method of use of which provides for the use of water for injection. Water for injection cannot be directly administered intravascularly due to low osmotic pressure due to the risk of hemolysis!
